Live Sound Hire Ltd is a business based in the centre of Guildford, Surrey (near Woking, Kingston, Leatherhead and Epsom), serving the whole of the UK but mainly in the South East and London. Comprising of a small, friendly team of hard-working, experienced audio engineers, we're confident you won't find a better bunch of people to deal with - whatever size your event is. We are the largest pro-audio hire company in the Guildford area - with a 4,200 square foot facility with ample parking in the heart of Guildford and as such, given over 20 years experience in the live and corporate sectors, we are the True experts in the Sound Hire business!
What we do
We provide sound equipment and/or staff for bands, concerts, tours, corporate events, conferences... in fact any event you can think of! Whether you need a small system for a live band / disco , a radio microphone system or a full-sized PA system for a concert, we are the people to speak to. Our comprehensive hire stock inventory ensures that we have the right equipment for any job, and it's right first time. We utilise the latest technology including Digital mixing consoles by DiGiCo and Yamaha, and ultra-efficient lightweight amplifier technology by Powersoft, QSC, FFA (Full Fat Audio) and MC2 Audio and Loudspeaker systems by EM Acoustics, JBL, FBT, D&B Audiotechnik and Meyer Sound, processed by state of the art loudspeaker management from XTA and Dolby Lake.
Sound Equipment Hire / PA Hire
Our core business is the hire of Sound Equipment, either 'dry hire' (typically non-staffed hire which allows the customer to collect the required equipment, use it, and bring it back), or 'wet hire' (equipment will be accompanied with an experienced engineer who will set up, operate, and take down the hired equipment). We have a full delivery and collection service on dry hired equipment so, whatever your requirements, we can help you out. What you see on our Hire Stock Price List is a true representation of the sound equipment we have for hire. We utilise the latest digital mixing and system processing technology, markedly with the addition of DiGiCo's SD9 and Yamaha's LS9-32 and LS9-16 consoles to our hire stock.

DJ equipment hire
We also hire DJ equipment such as the Pioneer CDJ2000, DJM800, DJM2000 and CDJ1000 (mk3) and the Technics 1210 / 1200.

Live Digital Recording
Live Sound Hire are proud to announce a new service - a 24-track live recording system. When used with one of our Yamaha digital consoles, up to 24 channels can be simultaneously recorded to a Hard Disk Recorded via ADAT optical interface, edited in our studio using Cubase or Logic, and then mixed down either within the computer or using the console - again using ADAT optical interface. This solution offers the cleanest recording and mixdown possible, keeping AD / DA conversions to a minimum.
Lighting Equipment Hire
We stock a small amount of lighting equipment which can be hired from us in the same way as sound equipment - we also have exclusive links with lighting equipment suppliers meaning that it is possible for us to arrange lighting for any scale event.
We hire and install LiteDeck staging, which is a modular staging system that is very easy to design and set up. Heights can be 1ft, 2ft and 950mm. Siderails and steps can also be supplied.
We have an amount of backline hire items that can be hired from us. Popular items include Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Les Paul guitars, Fender Precision basses, DW and Pearl drum kits, Roland V-Drums, Fender, Marshall and Trace Elliot guitar and bass amplifiers, Wurlitzer, Yamaha and Roland keyboards and synths. We can put together hire packages for full backline setups.
Rehearsal Rooms / Recording Studio
As part of our 4,000 square foot facility in the cente of Guildford, we have four rehearsal rooms and a fully-equipped recording studio. Boasting a large live room and a dedicated vocal booth, the studio can be used for recording anything, from large live bands to simply voiceovers and vocal takes.
The rehearsal studios are complimented by a comprehensive backline hire service available with no need to pre-book.

Eco-friendly PA: Sounds Green..
Here at LSH, we're keen to do our bit for the planet - not only by ensuring that the population hear great sound, but by using the latest technology to reduce our 'carbon footprint'. We use ultra-efficient amplification which uses less energy to produce more sound - and it's lighter than traditional amplification, reducing fuel consumption and space required. Our new consoles are digital, eliminating the need for power-consuming, heavy outboard. Our loudspeaker cabinets are built to the latest ROHS/WEEE directives, in line with manufacturing and disposal regulations. We are also working with suppliers to help develop solar-powered sound solutions, an exciting prospect indeed. A show can already by run from Bio-Diesel (if you would like to learn more about this, drop us a line!). We also recycle our cardboard!
All work we carry out is covered by a comprehensive £5million Public Liability insurance policy - this extended level of cover means that we meet or exceed the requirements of local authorities, venues and government agencies. We can also arrange to insure equipment that you hire from us, for a very competitive rate.
