  • 40 Flexi Channels, (mono or stereo)
(Equivalent to 80 channels of DSP)
  • 16 Flexi Busses, (mono or stereo) + Stereo or LCR Master + 8 Matrix and Dual Solo Busses.
(Equivalent to 47 Busses of DSP)
  • Large 15" touch screen for fast control
  • New Remote Stage Rack + local I/O
  •  8 x 8 Output Matrix
  • Snapshot control with relative update & offline facility
  • On board effects and Graphic Eq's
  • Additional I/O (MADI) for open platform recording or connection to other DiGiCo consoles and racks
  • 24 touch sensitive faders for instant control with Metering

The SD9 is a complete, integrated system powered by Stealth Digital Processing™, which includes the mixing surface, a D-Rack digital stage interface and CAT5E digital multicore, with the additional ability to simultaneously record 56 channels direct to your favourite multitrack software or DAW. And it all comes at a price which makes the SD9 the perfect solution for touring bands, schools, conference centres, smaller theatres, houses of worship and a host of other applications where exceptional performance and flexibility need to be realised on a tight budget.

Worksurface

The same attention to detail and ease of use has been applied to the SD9, as to every other console in DiGiCo’s portfolio. Thus, the SD9’s control surface has 24 motorised faders, dedicated and multi-function control knobs and electronic labeling. New Quick access function buttons for even faster response times. It also has a 15”, super high resolution, touch sensitive TFT LCD backlit display. Each bank of 12 faders can be instantly assigned as channels or masters, allowing all 24 faders to control inputs if desired, while any bank of 12 can be assigned to the touch screen for fine-tuning.

Engine

The SD9 provides, as standard, a 8 x 8 output matrix, its 8 busses being additional to the console’s 16 stereo, solo and master busses. 40 Flexi channels (mono or stereo) – the equivalent of 80 channels of full DSP processing - and the combined power of the SD9’s technologies means that the number and quality of effects, dynamics or other functions is available to all channels simultaneously, no matter how the console is set up.
The SD9 supplies engineers with a wealth of features, some of which, such as snapshots and the ability to record directly from the remote mic pre amps will be familiar to D Series users. The extensive security facilities are a new feature.
But familiar or not, one thing that is certain is that the only feature the SD9 lacks is a big price tag. In fact, it comes in at a considerably lower cost than anything else in the DiGiCo range - or any comparative console for that matter - but still provides much, much more than it’s nearest rival.

I/O

The SD9 has integral I/O within the worksurface, which are:-

  • 8 Mic/Line Inputs
  • 8 Line Outputs
  • 8 AES/EBU (mono inputs and outputs)

The standard SD9 system is supplied with a D Rack and 75M of CAT5E cable. The D-Rack is floor mount but has the ability to be rack mounted with the optional rack ears. The D-Rack houses 32 Mic/Line Inputs and 8 outputs. This can be increased to 16 outputs with an additional output card of either analogue or AES/EBU. Two further options are available in the form of an extra PSU for redundancy and Optics for connection within an existing DiGiCo system.
Each SD9 is capable of interfacing with two D-Racks, giving the ability to connect to 64 inputs and 32 outputs on stage.

As with all DiGiCo products, both the Mini Rack, MADiRack and DiGiRack, may also be used.

Digital Live Sound Mixing with the Comfort and efficiency of AnalogYamaha M7CL-48 for hire, rental

The M7CL series is a digital live-sound console that carries on the digital evolution from the acclaimed PM1DV2 and PM5D consoles. It includes an impressive array of advanced concepts such as the "Centralogic™" control interface that makes it as easy and intuitive to use as an analog console, and in-depth access management facilities that will be particularly appreciated in installations. The M7CL is familiar and comfortable to use, offering a level of convenience that overturns the preconception that "digital is difficult". A surprising range of functions that you would normally have to supply in the form of peripheral equipment is built in, and all of this is provided in a space that is dramatically less than an analog console of similar scope. The M7CL is the ideal digital mixing console for medium size live sound applications that have previously been handled by analog gear.
